Polish historian Henrik Glebotsky was deported from Russia in response to an unfriendly act by Warsaw, according to a statement from Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova posted on the ministry's website.

Zakharova confirmed in her statements the deportation of the Polish historian, which had been reported by various media, recalling that "on October 11, the Polish authorities, on the basis of absurd accusations, deported from Russia a Russian scientist-historian who taught in Poland."

"The measures taken in relation to Henrik Glebotsky are a response to this unfriendly act," Zakharova said.

On October 11, by order of the Polish Internal Security Service, the professor of the University of Novosibirsk and historian Dmitry Karnaukhov, who had lived in Poland since 2013 and taught at various local universities, was deported.
