Nearly two million people have been infected with the new coronavirus in the United States, with an additional 1.082 deaths from the disease. COVID-19 the previous 24 hours, according to the Johns Hopkins University count until Wednesday night (early Thursday, Greek time).

The strongest economic force on the planet suffers in absolute numbers the heaviest blow due to the pandemic worldwide, in the number of deaths (112.833) and in the number of infections.

The country continues to record about 20.000 new cases of coronavirus infection each day and finds it difficult to get off the plate, as some states take the baton from others.

In Texas and North Carolina, patients with COVID-19 and have been admitted to hospitals are now significantly more than a month ago.

With half a million tests done daily, the country is a world champion in diagnostic tests per capita.

Experts say protests against racism and police brutality in dozens of US cities over the past two weeks will rekindle the coronation pandemic, but Republican Vice President Mike Pence wanted to be reassuring. "What I can tell you is that, up to this point, we are not seeing an increase in new cases now, about two weeks after the first protests began," Pence told Fox Business Network.

An average of eleven epidemiological models, as calculated by researchers at the University of Massachusetts, the number of deaths due to COVID-19 in the country is expected to have reached about 130.000 on July 4, the day of the US national holiday.
