A historic meeting is expected between South Korean President Moon Jae-in and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un next Friday.

The meeting of the two leaders will take place on the military seropositive line that separates the Korean Peninsula, and Moon will receive Kim symbolically on the concrete line - the border between North and South Korea.

Kim Jong Un's move will make him the first North Korean leader to step foot on South Korean soil since the end of the Korean War, 65 years ago.

The meeting is scheduled for 3:30 Cyprus time and will take place in the village of Panmunjom. A military parade will accompany the two leaders to the site where the official welcoming ceremony will take place, according to Im Jong-shok, director of the South Korean presidency.

The two leaders will sign the guest book and later plant a tree on the military HIV line. The two delegations will dine separately, with the North Koreans crossing into their own territory.

Work will close with a formal dinner and farewell ceremony before the North Korean leader returns to Pyongyang.

Meeting with Trump?

In another development, US President Donald Trump said in a statement that "our meeting (with Kim Jong Un) will take place very soon" and noted that it will be good for the United States, North and South Korea, but also Japan
