Chinese tennis player Shuai Peng has caused serious unrest in the country, complaining that she was sexually abused by a former member of the Chinese Communist Party.
The former No. 1 in doubles and No. 14 in singles tennis, in a statement posted on the Weibo platform (the corresponding Twitter in her country) said that Zhang Gaoli forced her to have sex with him.
This is the first such complaint against a senior Chinese official in the #metoo global movement.
