Nearly nine in ten employees would like to be able to choose whether to work from home or office, once the restrictions imposed by the coronavirus pandemic have been lifted, and have more autonomy in choosing their hours, according to a Cisco survey Systems.

The pandemic has radically changed workers' attitudes toward teleworking, according to the survey, with two-thirds of respondents more appreciative of its benefits.

Although only 5% of those surveyed worked from home before the lockdown was imposed, now 86% said they would like to be able to choose when, how and when to work and take advantage of a combination of teleworking and office work. Cisco in its research released today.

Cisco Vice President Gordon Thompson commented that businesses would need to reshape their operations in order to meet the new demands of employees, who prioritized communication and collaboration.

He pointed out that technology should be used to ensure the security of employees and their data, either in the office or at home.

The Cisco survey involved 10.000 people in 12 markets in Europe, the Middle East and Russia.
