UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has called for a thorough investigation into the use of chemicals in Syria and warned of the dangers of a "complete military escalation".
"Escalating tensions and the inability to find a compromise solution to set up an investigative mechanism threaten to lead to a complete military escalation."
