"Long-term contracts now allow Budapest to buy Russian gas five times cheaper than the current market price in Europe," Russian President Vladimir Putin said during a meeting with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban in the Kremlin. the Hungarian government, which, he said, under its prime minister has done much to develop relations between the two countries.

Referring to the pandemic cooperation, Putin said that Russia had delivered 2 million doses of the Sputnik-V vaccine to Hungary and that the issue of transferring technology for vaccine production to Hungary was currently being discussed.

For his part, the Hungarian Prime Minister said that Hungary would like to increase gas imports from Russia under a bilateral long-term agreement.

"The signing of bilateral agreements by 2036 was very important. During today's meeting I would like to achieve the goal of increasing (gas) supplies," Orban said.
