The "big secret", as he described it, was revealed by Russian President Vladimir Putin, telling reporters the content of his talks with Western leaders on the Ukrainian crisis and security issues in Europe, Russian media note. information.

Vladimir Putin (pictured above, from KREMLIN.RU) has revealed to reporters the "big secret" of talks with US and European forces in recent months, saying what Moscow is really seeking from the West and Ukraine , writes the Russian website Moskovskiy komsomolets.

The three conditions

First, it is about recognizing Crimea as Russian.

Second, the refusal of the Kiev authorities to join NATO.

The third condition - the implementation of the Minsk agreements - has already lost its importance.

And the fourth is, according to Putin, the most important: the demilitarization of present-day Ukraine.

If these demands of Moscow are met, the situation will be considered settled in the long run.

Long meeting with Aliyev

Moskovskiy komsomolets inserts in its article about Putin an excerpt from his meeting with the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, which, as he notes, lasted unexpectedly long - five hours instead of the two scheduled.

However, after such long negotiations, Vladimir Putin did not refuse to answer questions from journalists on the issue of Donbas.

(The President of Azerbaijan did not want to stay and listen to the answers: apparently, he had already learned all the points of interest from the President during the dinner and hurried to leave the Kremlin so as not to "shine" as a background in the conflict with someone else, the Russian website points out).

The boundaries of Donbass

And she continues her article: The first question was, of course, about the recognition of the DNR and LNR (self-proclaimed People's Republics of Donetsk and Lugansk). Within what limits? And what will happen now with the Minsk agreements?

Vladimir Putin actually repeated the words of his spokesman Dmitry Peshkov: "The Minsk agreements no longer exist. As for borders, democracies were recognized by all the fundamental documents they had. "And their constitutions define the borders within the Donetsk and Luhansk regions when it was part of Ukraine."

(Recall that this is plus 70% of the land they actually own). In his opinion, more precise boundaries should be set in the negotiations between the leadership of the DNR and the LNR with Ukraine.

Putin acknowledged that such talks are not possible at the moment as hostilities continue and escalate. "But I hope it does not stay that way in the future."

The recapture of lands

The president did not give a clear answer as to whether the Russian troops would go to Donbass and take part in the recapture of the "historic" territories of the DPR and LPR, if their leaders had such wishes.

Putin said that the consent of the Federal Council to the use of Russian forces in Donbass was necessary as there is a conflict there and Russia, having signed the agreements, promised to provide assistance to these democracies, including the military.

"With this decision, we make it clear that, if necessary, we intend to fulfill our obligations," Putin said.

At the same time, he noted that obtaining the consent of the Federal Council does not mean "that the troops will go there at this time." And it is completely impossible to predict the specific actions of the Russian army in Donbas now: everything will depend on the situation "on the ground".

Asked how he sees the prospects for "restoring" relations between Moscow and Kiev after all that has happened in the last eight years and continues to happen, Vladimir Putin said he was ready to reveal a "big secret" to the journalist. .

He referred to the main demands made by the Kremlin during the long negotiations with European partners and the Americans, who also wanted to know: what should happen in order to consider that the situation in Ukraine has been resolved in the long run?

It turned out that the list consists of four points, one of which - the implementation of the Minsk agreements - no longer exists.

The list also includes the recognition of the "will of the people in Sevastopol and Crimea", ie the Russian ownership of Crimea.

"How is this statement of will worse than what happened in Kosovo?" "Yes, nothing!", Stressed the president.

Another condition is the refusal to admit Ukraine to NATO.

According to the President, in order for Western countries to save their credibility, the Kiev authorities themselves must refuse to join the alliance and, in fact, apply the principle of neutrality.

And finally, the most important point is the demilitarization of present-day Ukraine.

"If these demands were met, then Russia and Ukraine, and together the whole of Europe, could live in peace, without conflict, especially armed," Putin said.

And Moskovskiy komsomolets concludes: According to the president, Russia is on the side of the good, in the current situation: the good, Putin believes, should not be powerless.

It presupposes the ability to defend itself, and the Kremlin intends to be guided by this office in its relations with the world.
