Ironic comments but also anger
The ironic comments and the outrage of many internet users were caused by a South African pastor who allegedly resurrected a dead man and uploaded the video with the "miracle" on the internet, causing a stir among the faithful.
The video, starring pastor Alf Lukau of the Protestant church Alleluia Ministries International, went online over the weekend and went viral very soon.
Lucao is seen praying and resting with his hands on the "corpse" of a man, dressed in white, lying in a coffin. The "dead" - who still seems to be breathing normally - suddenly gets up and leaves his coffin, although instead of being resurrected he looks more like a zombie.
Within a few hours, the hashtag #ResurrectionChallenge ("Resurrection Challenge") gathered thousands of followers on Twitter where users presented their own "miracle" resurrection, as everyone imagined. One, Just Jaska, videotaped himself in his bathtub, commenting that "his alarm clock resurrected him to wake him up."
Luke's "miracle" was also denounced by the funeral home that had undertaken to organize the funeral of the alleged dead. "We want to distance ourselves from this so-called resurrection," Kings & Queens Funeral Services said in a statement, adding that it also intends to go to court, denouncing a "malicious" act aimed at damaging its credibility.
The church of Alleluia Ministries International also kept its distance, emphasizing that "it was not a miracle of resurrection". But she did not want to react to the criticism of those who accused her of deceiving the faithful.
While Pastor Alph Lukau is busy talking, I encourage you to concentrate on the mouth of the guy in the coffin then you will decide if he was dead or not.
Maybe this guy can bring back the likes of Nelson Mandela, Hector Peterson, Hugh Masekela, Steve Biko, OR Tambo and others. pic.twitter.com/lFoNsM0grO- Chief Erican (@EricanSA) February 25, 2019
