An adviser to Iran's top leader said today that his country's ballistic missile program "does not concern" French President Emmanuel Macron. "I would like Iran to have a less aggressive regional strategy and to be able to clarify its ballistic policy that seems out of control," Macron said Friday, eager for a "dialogue" with Iran.

"In matters of defense and ballistics, we do not ask permission from anyone. What does this have to do with Macron? "Who is there to intervene in these matters?" Ali Akbar Velayati, a senior adviser to Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, told state television.

"It does not benefit President Macron and France to intervene in the missile issue and in the strategic affairs of the Islamic Republic, of which we are particularly sensitive," he added.
