110 years after the first trip
The myth of the Titanic, no matter how many years pass, will remain high in the interest of the world. The wreck and the stories around it have fueled dozens of books, and movies. But now an effort to revive that journey has attracted the interest of the world.
The shipping company Blue Star Lines plans in 2022 to send a ship similar to the "Titanic" on its maiden voyage, exactly 110 years after the sinking of the original ship, in 1912. The "Titanic II" will mainly run the route between Southampton and New York.
This is not the first time such a difficult project has been planned, but this time everything has been launched. The ship will cost $ 500 million and will have nine decks and 840 rooms, which can accommodate 2.400 passengers and 900 crew members.
