As part of the investigation into a case of violence in sports venues and the transport of alcoholic beverages, the Police arrested three people yesterday.
These are two 28-year-olds and a 25-year-old, all residents of Larnaca province, who were taken into custody.
In particular, shortly before the start of yesterday's football match between the Anorthosis - Apollo teams, a person in the south stand was detected by the closed circuit monitoring to be behaving suspiciously.
At the same time, three other individuals who were outside the stadium and behind the south stand, were also found to be behaving suspiciously after inspecting the CCTV.
After further inspection it was found that a person outside the field threw a rope with the intention of being picked up by a person inside the field.
The anti-nuisance team responded immediately, and located the three persons, near whom two shoulder bags containing alcoholic beverages (beers and vodka) were found.
All three persons, (two 28-year-old and one 25-year-old), were taken to the Larnaca Police Station, where they were arrested on the basis of court warrants.
Today, they are expected to be brought before the Larnaca District Court, for the registration of a case against them.
