STEK (Association of Tourism Enterprises of Cyprus) demands a review of the policy and the lifting of the ban on Cypriots staying in hotels.

In its announcement, STEK welcomes the decision of the Council of Ministers for the reopening of the restaurants, considering that this decision is in the right direction, observing the strict protocols by the companies.

At the same time, however, he notes, he wishes to express his strong dissatisfaction, because the appropriate actions have not been launched to lift the ban on the stay of Cypriots in tourist accommodation.

The hotel industry, always having as its primary concern the protection of health and safety of both employees in the tourism industry and its customers, has adopted and adheres to stricter protocols than those set by the Ministry of Health, he adds.

Finally, STEK states that “it hopes that the state will immediately review its policy so far, in order to remove the injustice observed against the industry, thus giving the opportunity to our fellow citizens, in the same way that they can visit the restaurants so that they can stay in the hotels ”.
