The meeting of the Minister of Health Michalis Hadjipandella with the Scientific Advisory Committee in view of Christmas and New Year ended on Monday afternoon (20/12).

At the meeting, new proposals were put on the table for additional measures, as the significant increase in the number of coronavirus treatments, the continuing upward trend in the number of daily cases, but also the "Omicron" mutation, worries scientists.

According to information, the table put the suggestion to make a strict recommendation to the citizens to conduct a self test before and after their presence at Christmas tables which will be attended by people from different households.

In addition, it is expected that there will be variations in the gathering places in order to facilitate the families for the holiday period, ie the vaccinated children can enter with their parents in dining areas.

Finally, no changes are expected in what has to do with the number of people in homes (remains at 20), telework (stays at 20%) and the blockade on the unvaccinated.

It is noted that the decisions will be taken on Tuesday (21/12) by the Council of Ministers.
