CYPRUS: One death and almost two thousand cases

The Ministry of Health announces that today, February 24 2022:

- It was announced 1 death

- It's about:

  • A 86-year-old man who died on February 23

- Total number of deaths with final cause of the disease COVID-19: 834.

-       167 patients COVID-19 are hospitalized in OKYPY hospitals

-       37 in serious condition (ICU: 1 out of ventilator / 15 intubated, MAF: 21)

- Percentage of patients without a history of vaccination: 59,29%

-       23 Patients who have ceased to be infectious continue to be treated intubated for COVID in an Intensive Care Unit.

Diagnostic examinations:

- They took place in total 110.229 diagnostic examinations

- They were located 1.935 new cases (set of cases 315.341).

- Position rate in all exams 1,76%

Total number of molecular tests (PCR):

- They took place 7.085 molecular tests

- They emerged 289positive incidents

- Position of positivity 4,08%

Total number of rapid antigen detection tests (fastTest):

- They were carried out 103.144 rapid antigen detection tests

- They emerged 1.646 positive incidents

- Position of positivity 1,6%

Tracking:

- They were carried out 376 molecular tests and were detected 36 positive events (percentage of positivity 9,57%)

- They were carried out 745 rapid antigen detection tests and detected  59 positive events (percentage of positivity 7,92%)

Private initiative:

- They were carried out 1.935 molecular tests were identified 203 positive events (percentage of positivity 10,49%)

- They were carried out 47.076 rapid antigen detection tests were detected 1.023 positive events (percentage of positivity 2,17%)

Through the programs of the Ministry of Health were carried out 56.068 rapid antigen detection test. They were located 623 positive incidents.

- Sampling points: 17.663 rapid detection tests were detected 364 positive events (percentage of positivity 2,06%)

Education

- Primary Education: 20.699 rapid antigen detection tests were detected 96 positive events (percentage of positivity 0,46%)

- Secondary Education: 9.517 rapid detection tests were detected 47 positive events (percentage of positivity 0,49%)

- Test-to-Stay: performed 4.414 rapid antigen detection tests and detected 38 positive events (percentage of positivity 0,86%)

- Special Schools: conducted 666 rapid antigen detection tests and detected 6 positive events (percentage of positivity 0,9%)

Other

- Nursing homes: conducted 1.058 rapid antigen detection tests were detected 8 positive events (percentage of positivity 0,76%)

- Closed structures: carried out 261 rapid antigen detection tests were detected 3 new incidents (percentage of positivity 1,15%).

- Government Services: performed 1.045 rapid antigen detection tests and detected 2 positive events (percentage of positivity 0,19%)

The figures mentioned in the announcement are indicative and may vary based on the final and up-to-date data sent in the context of the National Epidemiological Risk Report published every second Friday.
