The first vaccines for children aged 5-11 arrive in Cyprus today.
As stated in her statements by the General Director of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Christina Giannaki, a plan has already been organized to start vaccinations in Maternity Protection and Child Welfare Centers in all provinces after a scheduled appointment.
He noted that these Centers are specially designed for children, with the main goal of easy access.
Dr. Giannaki said that the National Vaccination Advisory Committee of the Ministry of Health considered that the benefits of vaccination outweigh the risks and that taking into account the direct and indirect effects on the health and well-being of children from the disease COVID-19, unanimously adopted this position and took the decision for universal vaccination of the pediatric population of this category of children.
