An investigation related to the illegal provision of electronic gambling services was conducted at a property in the province of Larnaca, from where 50 computers and a sum of money were seized. A 37-year-old woman was illegally working at the property, who was arrested and detained after it was also established that she was illegally staying in the Republic.

The search of the property was carried out shortly after 7.00:XNUMX last night, with a court warrant, by members of the Intellectual Property Theft and Illegal Betting Branch, and the Forensic Electronic Data Laboratory, of the Electronic Crime Sub-Directorate, in collaboration with members of the TAE Headquarters , and of MMAD.

On the premises, 50 computers were found in operation, providing electronic gambling services, as well as 14 persons engaged in electronic gambling. The computers were seized for judicial examination, while documents and a sum of money close to 3,575 euros were found in the premises, which were also seized for the purposes of police examinations.

The investigation was conducted in the presence of the property manager, a 45-year-old man. Two women worked in the building, one of whom, aged 37, a third-country national, was found to be illegally staying in the Republic, since her temporary residence permit has expired. She was arrested for the offenses of illegal stay and illegal employment and was taken into custody for the purposes of police examinations. A case of illegal employment is being investigated against her employer.
