Cyprus has become one of the countries in which the Delta + mutation is located, which has been linked to increased transmissibility than the Delta mutation.
The fears of the experts were confirmed by the ECDC through examinations of the samples sent by Cyprus and from which it emerged that in two samples the Delta + mutation was detected.

The Ministry of Health notes that although this strain is highly contagious, at this stage it has not caused a serious deterioration in epidemiological and hospital indicators.
Finally, during the period September and October, the Delta mutation was detected in all 279 samples sent to the ECDC.
