With a reduced number per room and utilizing the entire school building infrastructure, this year's Pancyprian Examinations are expected to be held.

The restrictive measures combined with the uncertainty about when we will return to normalcy leads the Ministry of Education to plan new plans and to develop scenarios for the conduct of the complex task of the exams, especially the Pancyprian ones, as emphasis is given to the students of the XNUMXrd Lyceum. who, through the specific examinations, in addition to access to universities in Cyprus and Greece, also obtain their diploma.

One of the scenarios on the table is the conduct of the Pancyprian Examinations with a reduced number of students per room in order to observe protection measures. This presupposes that more classrooms will be needed, with those in charge focusing on the full utilization of the schools, ie all the appropriate classrooms. To meet the needs of supervision during the hours of each examination, it is not excluded that all school teachers should be recruited. In the implementation of the above plan, it should be considered certain that the senior students will be examined all the lessons of the Pancyprians in their school, with the practice of the previous years that each lesson wanted in a different school, to be terminated. As for the period of the Pancyprian Examinations, the certainty is that they will not take place during the period that was initially announced (May 18 - June 12), but it is considered more probable that they will move within June. An important factor for the exact date is the beginning of the classification of males in the National Guard, which is known to take place in the first days of July.

The possibility of extending the school year does not seem to be something that the ministry is considering, at this stage at least, as the year ends on June 30 and in theory there is sufficient time for decisions and procedures.

It is worth noting that the way the Pancyprian Examinations will be conducted this year due to the situation with the coronavirus, will not only affect the purely examination part that has to do with the students, but the whole process. Both the subject matter and the grading of the exam papers will change and will have nothing to do with what happened in previous years. With this in mind, the possibility of concentrating the subjects in hotels seems to be removed, with the procedures - including sending the subjects to schools - being simplified.

The Ministry of Education is also elaborating scenarios concerning the examinations of students of A΄ and B 'Lyceum, how they can be done and if it is possible.
