Initially, it was reported that the earthquake was 6.1 Richter, focusing on the sea area of Polys Chrysochous with a focal depth of 25 km. "This does not mean that Cyprus is not in danger of a tsunami."
He added that the seismic activity will last for a few months, while there are already earthquakes with a vibration of 3.1 Richter. "A magnitude 5 earthquake is not ruled out," he said.
He clarified that so far there are no machines that can predict an earthquake. "There are micro-seismographs abroad that provide timely information to protect the public."
