In their own way, the officers of the Commandos Command honored the heroes of the 1955-59 liberation struggle.
According to a statement, "as a sign of honor and respect to the heroes of the liberation struggle 1955-59, officers of the Commando Command participated in a road race of a total distance of 36 kilometers which started from the camp in Stavrovouni and ended at the Prisoned Monuments, with the laying of wreaths at memory of the sacrificed fighters".
