Following the information received today by the Ministry of Health from an airline that a passenger traveling from China via Moscow and presented with coronavirus-like symptoms, the protocols set by the Medical Services and Public Health Services of the Ministry of Health and other Health Services were activated. and the patient was transferred to Nicosia General Hospital for further investigation.
In addition, the aircraft crew and passengers who came into close contact with the patient and are considered on a high-risk basis in the event of a confirmed incident were screened by airport health professionals and given specific self-monitoring recommendations. At the same time, the Ministry of Health recorded the contact details of all the passengers of the aircraft, who were informed about the precautionary measures they must take for the next 14 days.
