The Plenary Session of the Parliament, after a two-hour debate, rejected the revocation of the law, which extends the suspension of real estate sales from 31η July to 31η October 2021 due to the intensifying social and economic effects of the outbreak of the pandemic

11 MPs voted in favor of accepting the referral, 23 voted against accepting the referral and 6 MPs abstained.

The session was chaired by the Elder of the Members of Parliament, Zacharias Koulias, who, while the Plenary Session was sitting and after continuous reports of Members of Parliament in a letter from the ECB regarding the suspension of divestitures, asked the Governor of the Central Bank to submit the letter to the second. Before the end of the session, the letter was forwarded to the Parliament and distributed to the Members of Parliament.

Most parties expressed the view that the letter was deliberately not forwarded to Parliament as the date of receipt by the ECB was 20η July while the law was revoked on the 23rdη July.

DIPA called on the President of the Republic to sign and publish the law, while AKEL expressed the view that the President of the Republic would mention it.
