Under the circumstances, the occupancy rates of Larnaca's hotels in June are deemed satisfactory, according to a survey carried out by the city's Tourism Development and Promotion Company, noting at the same time that bookings for the rest of the summer are moderate.

In a statement by ETAP, it is stated that according to the research conducted by the company, the hoteliers declared that they were "relatively satisfied" with the occupancy rates in their hotels, taking into account of course the loss of tourists from Russia and Ukraine, which in recent years were two of the most important markets of the province of Larnaca. At the same time, everyone agreed that the loss of share from these two countries is impossible to cover this year from other markets."

Regarding the remaining months of the summer season, i.e. July, August and September, "the hoteliers noted that the flow of bookings is moving at moderate levels and at a relatively slow pace, with occupancy so far clearly reduced compared to 2019. this particular year is considered the best pre-coronavirus, while so far 2022 is considered better than the last two years".

It is added that "this year, the phenomenon of last-minute bookings is more intense than ever, while bookings through Travel Organizers are low. Several hotels, mainly in Larnaca, reported that they have been forced to make price reductions and/or special offers."

It is reported that "the main tourist markets of Larnaca during the current year are the United Kingdom, Israel, Germany, Austria, Poland, Hungary and Romania while there is also good traffic from Greece mainly for business trips".

The research "confirmed the fact that Larnaca is gaining significant ground in Business Travel and Conference Tourism, as it is an ideal location for business and not only travel. This is due to the very short distance to the airport, the easy access to the rest of the cities and the advantage of being conveniently compact with a variety of options for the business person and the conference.'
