Another infant positive for the coronavirus is being treated in the negative pressure ward of the intensive care unit of Makareio Hospital.

According to the Director of the Pediatric Clinic of Makareio Hospital, Dr. Abraham Elias is a 10-month-old boy, who was transported on Saturday night from the Limassol General Hospital.

The 10-month-old infant had symptoms for four days. When he was transported by his parents to the Limassol General Hospital, it was judged that he needed treatment, so he was admitted to Makareio.

According to Dr. Elias, the little boy is being treated in the negative pressure ward and is out of danger.

It should be noted that another baby is being treated in Makareio, who is also in good health and is expected to be discharged in the coming days.

Dr. Elias noted that there are rarely complications in infants and there is no reason to worry. He also referred to a 28-day-old infant who was found to be positive for the coronavirus but was asymptomatic and did not need treatment.

He added that parents should be wary of symptoms such as high fever, persistent cough and anorexia.
