Complaints to 27 citizens and 9 property managers

In the last 24 hours (from 06.00 on Friday until 06.00 today), 2.767 inspections were carried out by the Police throughout Cyprus, in order to verify the observance of the measures and the implementation of the decrees of the Law on Infection Cleaning. 

As a representative of the Communication Branch of the Police Headquarters stated to KYPE, during the inspections, 27 complaints were made by citizens and 9 people in charge of premises.

With regard to provincial controls,

  • in Nicosia, 1.205 inspections were carried out, from which they emerged 13 complaints of citizens and 6 premises,
  • in Limassol, 209 inspections were carried out, from which they emerged 4 complaints from citizens,
  • in Larnaca, 454 inspections were carried out, from which they emerged 2 complaints from citizens,
  • in Paphos 275 inspections were carried out, from which 2 complaints of citizens emerged and 3 premises,
  • in Famagusta 330 inspections were carried out, from which they emerged 6 complaints from citizens,
  • In the area of ​​Morfos, 146 inspections were carried out, without any complaint.

Also, the Pancyprian Traffic Police carried out 145 inspections, without any complaints.

Of the 2.767 inspections, 3 concerned the Port and Maritime Police, from which no complaint emerged. 

Answering a question, the representative of the Communication Branch of the Police Headquarters said that the majority of the complaints to citizens concerned the non-use of a protective mask.

Regarding the six premises in Nicosia, the complaints in the five premises concerned employees without protective mask and 1 manager without safepass, while in Paphos the two premises served customers in the bar in violation of the decree and the other concerned employees without protective mask.
