A total of 3,337 persons who resided illegally in Cyprus have been deported

A joint forced return flight, with the deportation of a number of persons who resided illegally in the territory of the Republic of Cyprus, was carried out on 9/4/2024 by the Cyprus Police in cooperation with the Greek Authorities, under the coordination of the FRONTEX Organization.

This is the 4th participation of the Cyprus Police in a joint FRONTEX repatriation and deportation operation for this year.

A total of 3,337 persons, who resided illegally in Cyprus, have been deported/repatriated from the territory of the Republic of Cyprus in 2024, as part of the Police's efforts to return third-country nationals to their countries of origin.

During the corresponding period last year, the total number amounted to 2,348 deportations/returns.

The efforts of the Police and the Aliens and Immigration Service, to maximize the number of returns, continue.
