Guidelines for health and safety in the track and field published by the World Federation

The World Athletics Federation has published a guide with guidelines for the health and safety of all those involved in the sport of athletics, which mainly concerns the organization of competitions in open sports venues.

According to an announcement by KOEAS, the driver's goal is to help the race organizers and the Federations - Members - to minimize the risk of transmission of the corona during the races and trainings.

The guidelines were issued by the relevant Scientific Health Department of the International Federation and are aimed at athletes, coaches, staff, volunteers and those involved in the sport.

Meanwhile, the Technical Committee of the Federation, which met on Wednesday 10 June, considered as a key issue the possibility of organizing games in the summer season, after the lifting of restrictive measures and the return to training of a significant number of athletes in the sport.

The Technical Committee announced the recommendations to the Board of Directors, which will convene a regular meeting by teleconference on Monday, June 15 to make a decision.

Concluding, the Board of Directors of KOEAS notes that in addition to competitive planning, it will take important decisions on the course of the sport and especially on budget issues, which will be shaped accordingly, after the situation created due to the pandemic of the corona.
