The average number of patients treated with coronavirus at the General Hospital of Famagusta, which operates as a Reference Hospital, has been reduced to 58 years.

According to Amalia Hatzigianni, Scientific Director of the General Hospitals of Larnaca - Famagusta "last night at the Reference Hospital, eight patients were admitted and six discharged were given to people whose repeat tests for coronavirus were negative. "Unfortunately, young people are hospitalized with coronavirus and all ages are represented, with an average of 58 years".

He added that "young people aged 20 and 28 are treated in the public hospital, which reduces the average age."

Answering a relevant question, Ms. Hatzigianni said that "the main element that leads doctors to admit a patient to the hospital, is reduced oxygenation, while another indication is fever. "When citizens show symptoms, they must inform their personal doctor in time, because the sooner they go to the hospital, the sooner they will be discharged."

He added that "the treatment of patients in all hospitals is very good and citizens should not hesitate to inform their personal doctor who will decide whether to be admitted to a public hospital."
