Time of agony for 1300 police officers. Today at 08:00 in the two examination centers in Nicosia and Limassol the candidates start the battle for joining the Police Academy. After the "adventure" with the cutting of the "34" in the previous examinations and what followed, a new procedure begins to fill in the first stage 343 vacancies in the Police.
Candidates will be examined in the following subjects: Mathematics, Greek, English and General Knowledge. Those who succeed will pass the next tests.
The sum of the 343 vacancies results from the 143 vacancies that previously existed in the Police Force, together with the 200 vacancies that were unfrozen through the Parliament following the actions of the former Minister of Justice and current Attorney General George Savvidis.
It is noted that on Monday, August 03, 113 new members were hired by the Police and the Fire Brigade. The 80-82 joined the Police and follow the study program at the Police Academy and the rest joined the Fire Service and have already joined the Fire Academy in Kaimakli.
The written exams were scheduled for March 21, but were postponed after the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.
It is worth noting that on September 26, 2020, the examinations for the recruitment of 30 special Police Officers will take place.
The Police Headquarters through its twitter account made a comment in view of the exams wishing good luck and everyone to be at the Police Academy.
