The General Commissioner of Elections and the Cyprus Police state in a statement that the ceremony of announcing the new President of the Republic will take place at the "TASSOS PAPADOPOULOS - ELEFTHERIA" stadium, in Nicosia, on the evening of Sunday 05.02.2023 or Sunday 12.02.2023, in the case that there is a repeat election. The exact time of the announcement will be announced by the Chief Electoral Officer.

For the purpose of serving those who will attend the event, all the parking spaces of the Makarios Stadium will be available, with an entrance from Lefkotheou Street, the parking lot west of the Eleftheria Stadium, as well as the space behind the auxiliary fields of the Makarios Stadium, with entrance from Lykavittou Street.

Officials attending the event are encouraged to come to the venue from Iroon Avenue – Lefkotheou Street – Lykavittou Street (from the Tomb of Makedonitissa and the Church of Agios Panteleimon) and from Morphou Avenue – Lykavittou Street and to park in the parking lot, west of the Stadium "TASSOS PAPADOPOULOS - ELEFTHERIA", with entrance from Lykavittou Street.

It is noted that entry to the official parking area will only be allowed to the holders of a special card that will be granted for this purpose by the Office of the General Registrar of Elections.

At the venue of the event, increased security measures will be taken by the Cyprus Police. In particular, it will be strictly prohibited:

the transportation to the stage of flares, firecrackers and other dangerous objects.

the transfer of banners with abusive or other provocative - racist content.

the inscription of slogans in the surrounding area, on the walls of the stadium and anywhere else.

the entry into the stadium, to anyone with a covered face.

Any person who does not follow the above rules will not be allowed to enter the stadium. Those attending the event are invited to behave in a dignified manner and with respect for the institution of the event.

The capacity of the stadium is limited and, therefore, arrangements will be made so that the public can also watch the event from giant screens, which will be placed outside and around the perimeter of the stadium.

It is pointed out that the Police, as a matter of duty, will be present at the ceremony of announcing the new President of the Republic, for the safety and protection of the public, the safeguarding of the entire event and the provision of traffic facilities to the public, both when arriving and when leaving.
