In Athens, President Anastasiadis for contacts with the political and state leadership of Greece

The President of the Republic, Nikos Anastasiadis, is visiting Athens today in order to have meetings with the political and state leadership of Greece.

Specifically, President Anastasiadis will have a meeting at 10:15 a.m. with the President of the Hellenic Republic, Katerina Sakellaropoulou. It will be the first meeting of the two Presidents since the day of the inauguration of Mrs. Sakellaropoulos, in March.

Then, at 11:00, the President of the Republic of Cyprus will go to the Maximos Palace, where he will have a meeting with the Greek Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, with whom he will have talks, in the presence of the delegations of the two countries.

Anastasiadis and Mitsotakis are expected to discuss Turkey's provocations against the two countries, Ankara's illegal actions in the Eastern Mediterranean, Euro-Turkish relations and the results of yesterday's European Union Foreign Affairs Council, during which the issue of relations was discussed. At the same time, there will be coordination in view of the forthcoming European Council to be held on 17 and 18 July in Brussels. Immediately after the meeting, statements will be made by the two leaders.

In the afternoon, the President of the Republic will receive the President of SYRIZA, leader of the official opposition, Alexis Tsipras.

During his meetings in Athens, the President of the Republic will be accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikos Christodoulidis, the Government Spokesman Kyriakos Kousios, the Ambassador of the Republic to Greece Kyriakos Kenevezos and the Director of the Diplomatic Office of Kyriakos Kouros.
