Filokypros Rousounidis, General Manager of PASYXE, spoke on the front page about the state of tourism.
Mr. Rousounidis said that at this time there is not a large flow of tourists that justifies keeping all the hotels open.
He referred to the plan to support domestic tourism, which made thousands of reservations in the summer and this season. "It had very positive results," he said.
He also said that 75% of the hotels will be closed by March, when the season resumes. "We hope that this period will be the beginning of the recovery of the industry."
Referring to the contacts they have with foreign agencies, he said that our tourism partners also ask us to include Cyprus in the map of winter tourism and that, as he said, is the goal of the coming months.
"Within the next five years, a lot will be done in our mountainous areas," Mr. Rousounidis also said.
