Police announce a nationwide Cypriot campaign to control the use of seat belts and child / lift seats with the ultimate goal of reducing serious and fatal injuries in road traffic collisions.
According to a relevant announcement, the campaign started today, Monday, October 26, and will last until Sunday, November 8, 2020.
The aim of the campaign is to raise the awareness of drivers and car passengers in the use of seat belts in both the front and rear seats, as well as the use of child and lift seats, through policing.
The seat belt remains the most effective safety feature in motor vehicles. According to the analysis of the available statistics for the three years 2017 - 2019, 55,56% of the dead drivers and passengers of vehicles did not wear a seat belt.
