During the last 45 hours, the Police proceeded with 24 complaints of citizens and an establishment for violation of the measures to limit the spread of the coronavirus disease. At 12 noon today, the controls regarding the movement of persons to and from the provinces of Limassol and Paphos as well as between the two provinces begin.
In his statements to KYPE, a representative of the Communication Branch of the Police Headquarters stated that from 6 in the morning of Thursday until 06:00 today, 2.164 checks were carried out.
He noted that of the 45 complaints from citizens, 14 concerned trafficking after the ban in all provinces, 24 concerned non-use of masks outdoors, 4 non-use of masks in cars and another 3 non-use of masks on premises.
Regarding the checks by province, the representative of the Communication Branch of the Police Headquarters told KYPE that in Nicosia 352 checks were carried out with 15 complaints of citizens, in Limassol 301 checks were carried out with 9 complaints of citizens, in Larnaca 439 checks were carried out with 8 complaints of citizens, In Paphos, 378 inspections were carried out with 4 complaints of citizens and one premises, in Famagusta 492 inspections were carried out with 6 complaints of citizens and in the area of Morfos 77 inspections were carried out and 3 citizens were reported.
Another 125 checks were carried out by the Port Police, without any complaints.
Meanwhile, the Police announced yesterday that after consultation with the Ministry of Health, the controls in relation to the movement of persons to and from the provinces of Limassol and Paphos as well as between the two provinces will begin at 1200 today at noon, in order to give the time for the employees referred to in the decree to obtain the relevant authorization from their employers.
