The actions that must be done by organizers
In order to reduce social gatherings, which promote intense social interaction, and to control contacts, thus limiting the transmission of the virus, the Council of Ministers, on August 21, 2020, set as a maximum of 50 people who can gather in homes and premises for private or public use.
Incidents in recent weeks confirm the concern that social gatherings and gatherings are high-risk activities for the spread of the virus within the community. The increasing number of cases detected in the community complicates the tracing task and causes obstacles in the effort for timely intervention and interruption of the transmission chain.
Therefore, and with the issuance of a relevant Decree setting the date of commencement of the measure and until January 15, 2021, the permitted maximum number of 50 people should be observed in gatherings such as the following:
• Birthday parties (children or adults) in homes, playgrounds, parks, etc., except those organized in restaurants,
• Beach party, pool (private or public), yacht / yacht,
• Private house parties,
• Receptions / Cocktails in homes or other premises, public or private,
• Lunch / Dinner in homes,
• Memorials,
• Family / Friendly gatherings in homes,
• Cultural events, such as theater, music, dance, art exhibitions, etc., other than those held in open-air amphitheaters or indoor theaters,
• Competitions,
• Events of cultural, sports, or other form of clubs and associations outside restaurants, and / or
• Any other form of mass gathering that promotes the gathering and contact of a large number of people at the same time in the same space.
By way of example, the following examples are given:
1. In the case of the opening of a painting exhibition, during the cocktail / reception, it is not allowed to be more than 50 people at a time. It should also be ensured that up to 50 people are present at the exhibition site at all times.
2. In the case of a conference and regardless of the number of participants, the maximum number of persons who can be present in the event that coffee / snacks / cocktails are offered, is 50 people at a time.
It is noted that in any case the organizers of the event and / or those in charge of the premises should keep a list of attendees, which should be delivered to the Epidemiological Surveillance Unit of the Ministry of Health to facilitate tracking, in case of detection.
