Vaccinations continue at an intensive pace in Cyprus after receiving the first doses of Pfizer vaccine with the aim of shielding our country's health system and protecting vulnerable groups.

At 10:30 on Tuesday (29/12) morning, Archbishop Chrysostomos II is expected to be vaccinated at the Latsia Health Center, taking turns with the President of the Republic, Nikos Anastasiadis, who was vaccinated yesterday.

In statements after the vaccination, President Anastasiadis noted that "there is no disease that is not treated with medication or a disease that is not treated with a vaccine. I do not think there has ever been such a reaction as is observed today. It is the right of everyone, of course, to believe what he wants and to decide with free will whether he will be vaccinated or not ".

However, speaking yesterday at the Sections in Facts, the professor of Pharmacy at the University of Nicosia, Dr. Christos Petrou, stated that the view that vaccinations start and the problem is solved, is far from reality.

"We have received a symbolic receipt of vaccines. In a month we will have less than 5 thousand of our fellow human beings who will be protected. This must be understood. "The important thing is to vaccinate those who are at risk of being hospitalized so that the health system can withstand the pressure."
