Limassol crash: The driver of the jet ski was arrested

Authorities are continuing to investigate the fatal jet ski accident that took place yesterday afternoon in Limassol. On Sunday morning, the driver of the Jet ski who had left the scene was handed over to the authorities. He is a 50-year-old man from Romania, a permanent resident of Cyprus, for whom an arrest warrant has been issued and he has been arrested. 

The incident happened at 16:45 in the afternoon in a sea area of ​​Limassol. Police were alerted when the two men were searched by the owner of a water sports business, from where they had rented the jet ski. 

Immediately at the scene, members of the Limassol Lifeguard Unit rushed and found a man unconscious in the water.

He was taken ashore where he was given first aid, but did not regain consciousness and was transported by ambulance to Limassol General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The circumstances under which the maritime accident occurred are being investigated by the Port and Maritime Police and the Limassol Police Department.

Authorities are investigating the home of the unfortunate passenger of the jet ski and he is a 53-year-old man, also a permanent resident of Cyprus from Romania.
