31-year-old handcuffed for illegal work – She ran away when she saw the police

46 ARREST

The Police in Paphos proceeded to arrest a woman in order to facilitate investigations regarding an investigated case of illegal employment, while her employer was accused in writing of illegal employment.

According to the Assistant Police Director of Paphos Operations Michalis Nikolaou on January 15, at 09:30, members of the Paphos Aliens and Immigration Service went to a souvenir shop located on Apostolou Pavlou Avenue following information that illegal aliens were working there.

As Mr. Nikolaou told KYPE, they spotted a woman working there, they approached her and she ran away in the presence of the police.

Then it stopped at a distance of 50 meters. It was established that this is a 31-year-old woman, who is in Cyprus as a political asylum seeker and apparently did not have a permit to work in the business.

She was then arrested and taken into custody. Her employer was called to the offices of the Paphos Police, charged in writing and released to be summoned to court later.
