The Police in Paphos proceeded to the arrest of a woman to facilitate investigations regarding an investigated case of illegal possession of property while her husband is wanted for burglary and theft.

According to the Assistant Police Director of Operations, Michalis Nikolaou, on February 3 at 07:40 a complaint was made to the Paphos TAE by an Archimandrite in charge of the church of Agia Paraskevi located in Geroskipou Square, that between the dates of February 2-3, between the hours of 16:30 p.m. -6:30 respectively, the office of the church of Agia Paraskevi in ​​Geroskipou, located next to the church, was broken into and the sum of 5.000 euros was stolen from it.

Mr. Nikolaou told the KYPE that members of the TAE Paphos went to the place and from on-site examinations it was found that the entrance and exit of the perpetrators was achieved through a wooden window of the office, after it was breached with a sharp object while external protective irons were also cut off.

Various items of evidence were taken from the scene for scientific examination. Yesterday, Tuesday, information was received, Mr. Nikolaou continued, that a person who is a permanent resident of Paphos may be involved in the case.

On the same day, a warrant of arrest and search of the property where he lives was issued against this person by the Paphos District Court.

Mr. Nikolaou then said that yesterday between the hours of 15:20 and 16:15 members of the TAE Paphos searched the property in the presence of the wanted person's wife.

As part of the investigation, the total sum of 4.705 euros as well as gold-colored cufflinks and two copper-colored rings were located and received as evidence.

Therefore, Mr. Nikolaou added, at 15:30 on Tuesday, the wanted man's wife was arrested. When questioned, she made some allegations that are being investigated.
