The news of the actor's death was announced by screenwriter Dimitris Tokaris.
In particular, the well-known screenwriter and director made it known that Vassilis, who participated in the successful SIGMA series, "Zoi Podilato", which aired for two seasons, from 2006 to 2008, has passed away.
In a post on social media he wrote the following,
"I met Vassilakis at a party and I was impressed by his style and height. I asked him to come on for a guest role and eventually people liked him so much that we kept him for years. Today he died and I want to wish a good journey to a better world to a good-natured creature who gave us so many beautiful moments."
