One of the paradoxes of the decrees is the provision for a ban on the residence of Cypriots in the country's hotels. This is also stated by STEK in an announcement which requests the lifting of this ban and at the same time the revision of the decree.
This ban exists according to sigmalive, due to the traffic restriction in force (23.00). The political decision is expected to be reviewed after April 1, the day on which the existing decree expires.

What the decree says about hotels
The operation of hotels and / or tourist accommodation is allowed provided that only persons who are not permanent residents of the Republic and fall under the provisions of Regulations 2.9 to 2.14 and 2.16, for accommodation of persons who are in a state of compulsory restraint and accommodation. which are referred by the Ministry of Tourism, as well as for the hosting of teams of the A Division championships and national teams for the period of 24 hours that precedes the official start time of the games.
It is understood that the use of the dining areas of the hotels and / or tourist accommodation by persons other than those provided in this paragraph is allowed.
