The Ministry of Tourism will present through the internet 12 Grant Schemes that will operate for 2022, in the context of the implementation of the National Tourism Strategy 2020 - 2030.

According to an announcement issued by the Ministry of State, the Plans concern the development of special forms of tourism, the enrichment of infrastructure and the encouragement of the use of digital technology in tourism.
 
The main objectives of the Plans are:

The upgrade of the country's tourism product.

The extension of the tourist season.

The upgrade and / or creation of infrastructure related to special forms of tourism.

The attraction of visitors, Cypriots and foreigners in the rural areas, mountainous and remote areas.

The support of companies / persons active in handicrafts and wine gastronomy.

The promotion and promotion of Cypriot handicrafts and wine gastronomy as part of the authenticity of the destination.

The Plans, as stated in the announcement, are the following:

1) Grant Scheme for Visitable Craft and Wine Gastronomy Laboratories through the De minimis Aid Program (DE MINIMIS).

2) Subsidy Plan of the Ministry of Tourism to Encourage Projects for the Quality and Aesthetic Upgrading of the Beaches (2020 - 2022).

3) Grant plan for Events related to Wine Gastronomy and Local Products through an Aid Program (DE MINIMIS).

4) Grant scheme for the organization of international sporting events in Cyprus (DE MINIMIS).

5) Grant scheme for foreign sports teams, clubs, associations, and federations for training and preparation in Cyprus, within the framework of the European Union regulations for de minimis aid (DE MINIMIS).

6) Grant scheme for the certification of recreational diving service providers in Cyprus (2021 - 2022).

7) Grant scheme for the organization of familiarization trips for special forms of tourism in Cyprus.

8) Grant Plan for the creation, upgrade of infrastructure / facilities in order to upgrade the offered product that concerns the special forms of tourism.

9) Grant Scheme for the organization of conferences / meetings in Cyprus.

10) Grant Scheme for the organization of trips / incentives in Cyprus.

11) Grant Scheme for the digital transition of providers of special forms of tourism.

12) Subsidy plan for the hosting of cruise ships in Cyprus, within the framework of the European Union regulations on de minimis aid (DE MINIMIS).

It is noted that each Plan will be presented separately, with the aim of explaining in detail to the interested public.

It is reported that the presentation will be in Greek, on Friday, January 28, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. through the Facebook page of the Ministry of Tourism. It will take about 45 minutes and will focus on municipalities, communities, travel agencies, tourist accommodation, leisure centers, universities, NGOs, tourism stakeholders, sporting event organizers, promotional event organizers, local , representatives of cruise companies in Cyprus, artists and others.
