The Council of Ministers today approved the revised Financial Assistance Plan for former children under the Legal Care of the Director of Social Welfare Services, after the age of 18, for the purpose of restoring and strengthening their social integration.
According to a written statement by the Deputy Government Spokeswoman, Niovis Parisinou, the Plan financially supports former children under the care of DYKE, against their coming of age, in order to ensure opportunities for their smooth rehabilitation through studies, vocational training / education and the purchase of household equipment.
Also, in the revised plan was added the coverage of a monthly rent amount for those children who have secured a place in a University abroad and / or Cyprus and which will be paid every semester. In addition, according to the revised Plan, when submitting the application, a certificate of enrollment in the University for the current year, a rental housing contract or proof of rent payment in the name of the beneficiary must be submitted.
At the same time, financial assistance has been added to the provision of the Plan for the purchase of books and / or other items that are necessary for attending higher / higher education institutions, said Ms. Paris.
