The countries that are degraded

As of today, Saturday (5/9), a total of seven countries fall into the category of categorizing the countries of the Ministry of Health for arrivals in Cyprus.

More specifically and according to the Ministry of Health:

Hungary moves from Category A to Category B.
Slovakia moves from Category A to Category B.
Slovenia moves from Category A to Category B.
Liechtenstein moves from Category A to Category B.
Rwanda is moving from Category B to Category C.
Monaco is transferred from Category B to Category C.
Australia moves from Class C to Class B.
Category A - Low risk countries at this stage

• Member States of the European Union: 1) Germany, 2) Estonia, 3) Latvia, 4) Lithuania, 5) Finland

• Members of the Schengen Area: 1) Norway

• Third Countries: 1) Georgia, 2) Canada, 3) New Zealand, 4) South Korea, 5) Thailand

Please note that for passengers from Category A countries, a laboratory test certificate is not required. COVID-19 but neither is self-restraint.

Category B - Countries with potentially low risk but with greater doubt compared to Category A

• Member States of the European Union: 1) Austria, 2) Belgium, 3) Denmark, 4) Greece, 5) Ireland, 6) Italy, 7) Hungary, 8) Poland, 9) Portugal, 10) Sweden, 11) Slovakia , 12) Slovenia, 13) Czech Republic

• United Kingdom

• Members of the Schengen Area: 1) Switzerland, 2) Iceland, 3) Liechtenstein

• Small states: 1) Vatican City, 2) San Marino

• Third Countries: 1) Uruguay, 2) China, 3) Japan, 4) Australia

Passengers coming from Category B countries are required to have a laboratory test within 72 hours before departure and to have a Certificate proving a negative PCR test for the virus.

It is also clarified that passengers from category B countries falling into the following categories may undergo the molecular examination upon arrival in the Republic:

a) Cypriot citizens and members of their families (their foreign spouses, minor children and their parents),

b) all legally resident in the Republic,

(c) persons entitled under the Vienna Convention;

d) persons regardless of nationality, in the country of residence of which no laboratory analysis service is provided (public or private), to those who wish to travel to the Republic of Cyprus and upon relevant announcement.

It is noted that the cost of the examination is covered by them and in addition these people should remain under house arrest until the result is issued.

Category C - Countries at increased risk compared to categories A and B.

• Member States of the European Union: 1) Bulgaria, 2) France, 3) Croatia, 4) Luxembourg, 5) Romania, 6) Spain, 7) Malta, 8) The Netherlands

• Small states: 1) Andorra, 2) Monaco

• Third Countries: 1) Algeria, 2) Serbia, 3) Morocco, 4) Montenegro, 5) Rwanda, 6) Tunisia, 7) Russia, 8) Ukraine, 9) Faroe Islands, 10) Egypt, 11) United Arab Emirates Emirates, 12) Israel, 13) Lebanon, 14) Qatar, 15) Bahrain, 16) Saudi Arabia

According to the Decontamination Decree (No. 30) of 2020, only certain categories of citizens who are able to choose to undergo a diagnostic test for the disease are allowed to enter the Republic from category C countries. COVID-19 upon arrival in Cyprus or have an RT-PCR certificate with them COVID-19 with a negative result within 72 hours before departure. It is also pointed out that according to the Decree of the Minister of Health, No. 37, dated 12 August 2020, citizens arriving from Category C countries will have to undergo a molecular test for the disease COVID-19 at their own expense, 48 hours before the end of their self-restraint, which expires in 14 days. The result of the laboratory test must be sent to monada@mphs.moh.gov.cy. It is understood that the self-limitation ends on the 14th day and if the result of the repeated laboratory test is negative.

Passengers, regardless of country category, are required to apply for CyprusFlightPass within 24 hours prior to departure of their flight. In addition, for the purposes of ensuring Public Health and surveillance of the epidemiological picture, a sample laboratory molecular test will be performed.
