The first awnings were recently installed at the bus stops of our Municipality which, as you can see in the photos, have already started to be used.
The first four (4) awnings were placed in the coastal area of our Municipality, while the placement of another fifteen (15) in the residential area will follow soon.
It is emphasized that the design of the shades was based on the climatic conditions of Cyprus, especially in terms of strong sun and high summer temperatures. Specifically, the roof used modern thermal insulation materials that insulate solar radiation and heat, while in the parts of the shade that will come in contact with the human body, wood was placed which has the ability to maintain its temperature at levels with those of the human body.
The design of the stops was made exclusively for the Municipality of Sotiras, based on the simplicity of construction, resistance to vandalism and the comfort of users, while the color options given emphasize the seaside character of our Municipality.
