Today, the President of the Republic, Nikos Anastasiadis, received Mr. Mathew Phosa and Mr. Roelf Meyer, distinguished personalities from South Africa with experience in peace negotiations. 

After the meeting, Mr. Phosa told reporters, among other things, that they were briefed by the President on the current situation in the Cyprus issue, adding that "there is much to be learned from the experience of South Africa" ​​and the peace process in the country. experience that they wish to share with the Cypriot people, Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots.

For his part, Mr. Meyer said, among other things, that as opponents of apartheid they came to Cyprus to talk about the example and experiences of South Africa, for the benefit of resolving disputes and disputes.
"We are here to support the peace process in Cyprus and to contribute as much as we can," he concluded.

The two men also met with the Speaker of Parliament Dimitris Syllouris.
