The President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Anastasiadis, clarified his statement to a private radio station about the name of Macedonia to the Athens News Agency.
As he notes, the issue of the name is handled by Greece, and the Republic of Cyprus will support any decision it makes.
"I expressed an assessment that aimed to highlight the prospects that will be created by resolving this issue. "The interests of Greece and Hellenism in general must be fully safeguarded, and any provisions in the Skopje Constitution that speak of redemption or indicate any territorial claims against Greece must be eliminated," concluded President Anastasiadis.
