PD: Social welfare programs for the elderly

President Anastasiadis said that last year there were 62 social welfare programs, covering about 2000 elderly people.

The total state aid was about 1,4 million euros, which is about 20% of the total public funds allocated for all social welfare programs.

He added that "in addition, a National Action Plan for the Elderly is currently being prepared, incorporating the four main objectives of the Vienna Declaration and the commitments of the Regional Strategy for the Implementation of the Madrid International Action Plan" for C.
 
Welcoming the event of the Kaimakli Home for the Elderly "Archangel Michael", which was read by the Minister of Agriculture, Nikos Kougialis, the President assured that the State's concern for improving the quality of life of the elderly and ensuring the dignity of their livelihood will continue to be substantial and lasting ”.

He added that "in addition to a Minimum Guaranteed Income, this legislation provides the framework for subsidizing nursing care, which provides for the subsidizing of the cost of home or institutional day care for elderly beneficiaries of the Minimum Guaranteed Income."
 
In his greeting, President Anastasiadis said that "in cooperation with civil society, we support the creation of care structures and actions of support, care, empowerment and social inclusion of the elderly."
 
He said that "through the State Aid Plan, the Ministry of Labor, Welfare and Social Security encourages NGOs and Local Authorities to develop and implement social welfare programs through grants and technical support."
