The Speaker of the Parliament, Dimitris Syllouris, undertakes a coordinating role for the cooperation between the small states of the Middle East and the countries of the Gulf.
In statements, Mr. Syllouris said that the vision and goal is for the cooperation to move to a low-level policy. This translates into cooperation at the level of education, research, culture and not necessarily politics, in which governments take action.
He said the decision was made during his official visit to Kuwait and was discussed in meetings with his counterparts at international parliamentary conferences.
Regarding the results of the 2nd tripartite meeting of the Speakers of the Parliaments of Cyprus, Greece and Israel, Dimitris Syllouris said that important collaborations are being promoted on a practical level.
